1. Overview

AgentX ("we," "our," or "us") provides AI-powered tools for e-commerce sellers, including an AI Blog Writer for Shopify and an Amazon Ads Analytics dashboard. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our services.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

  • Shopify store data: When you install AgentX through Shopify, we receive your shop domain, access token, and permission to read and write blog content on your behalf.
  • Blog content data: Articles, drafts, tags, and SEO metadata that you generate or manage through AgentX.
  • Brand configuration: Brand voice, tone, keywords, and content rules you set up in AgentX.
  • Amazon Ads data: Campaign performance metrics, spend data, and attribution data from your Amazon Ads account (read-only).
  • Usage data: Information about how you interact with AgentX, including feature usage and timestamps.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To generate and publish blog content to your Shopify store on your behalf.
  • To perform AI-powered brand compliance checks on your articles.
  • To display Amazon Ads performance data in your analytics dashboard.
  • To improve our AI models and service quality.
  • To communicate with you about your account and service updates.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We may share your data with:

  • Anthropic (Claude AI): Your brand configuration and article content is sent to Anthropic's API for AI content generation and health checks. Anthropic's privacy policy applies to this data.
  • Cloud infrastructure providers: We use cloud hosting services to operate AgentX. Your data is stored securely on our servers.
  • Legal requirements: We may disclose data if required by law or to protect our rights.

5. Shopify Data Usage

AgentX accesses your Shopify store with the following permissions:

  • read_content / write_content: To read your existing blog posts and publish new articles generated by AI.

We only access and modify blog content. We do not access customer data, order information, payment details, or any other store data beyond what is necessary to operate the blog writing feature.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you uninstall AgentX from your Shopify store, your store's access token is revoked and we will delete your associated data within 30 days upon request. Generated blog articles that have been published to your Shopify store remain in your Shopify account and are subject to Shopify's data policies.

7. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS), secure credential storage, and access controls. We do not store Shopify access tokens or Amazon credentials in plain text.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the data we hold about you.
  • Request deletion of your data.
  • Uninstall AgentX from your Shopify store at any time to revoke our access.
  • Contact us with any privacy concerns.

9. GDPR Compliance

For merchants in the European Economic Area (EEA), we comply with GDPR requirements. Upon receiving a data deletion request from Shopify (customers/redact or shop/redact webhook), we will delete the associated personal data within 30 days. For customer data requests (customers/data_request), we will provide the requested data within 30 days.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of AgentX after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
